What is Entrepreneurial Feminism?

Entrepreneurial feminism promotes feminist values through the process of creating ventures, to improve the position of women in society. As defined by Barbara Orser and Catherine Elliott, entrepreneurial feminism is a mechanism to create economic self-sufficiency and equity-based outcomes for girls, trans, queer women, and women- identified people.

Entrepreneurial feminists enter commercial markets to create wealth and social change based on the ethics of cooperation, equality, and mutual respect.

And more thoughts....

"Entrepreneurial feminists and feminist entrepreneurs are people who leverage the power of enterprise and feminist insight to model powerful new ideas which will ultimately lead to fundamental changes in our communities and the economy."

-Petra Kassun-Mutch

"[Feminist enterprises] are businesses that have made an effort to move from conventional understanding of business to a feminist one that includes not only gender equality and social justice, but also demonstrates feminist values and is dedicated to human flourishing at every level. "

-CV Harquail
